Dr Satish B. Agnihotri an IAS Officer of Orissa cadre from the 1980 batch holds Masters Degree in Physics and M.Tech in Environment Science and Engineering from IIT, Mumbai, MA in Rural Development, and Ph. D on Sex ratio patterns in Indian Population from School of Development Studies, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK.
Dr Agnihotri is presently Secretary, Performance Management and Secretary Coordination at the Cabinet Secretariat. Prior to the present assignment, Dr Agnihotri served as Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and has also worked extensively in various Departments of Government of India such as Director General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence, Additional Secretary in Ministry of Agriculture, Director General (Shipping), Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat and various positions in th State Government of Orissa.
Dr Agnihotri not only guides the GO-PEM-PAL as its Chairman through his immense experience as an administrator but also provides a vast intellectual vision. His research on declining sex ratios in India has been approvingly cited by prominent Scholars including Prof. Amartya Sen. He is also an avid reader and writer known for writing satire and science fiction.
